Hi, I'm Giselle Herrera

I started Impact Email Design because I got tired of watching incredible organizations lose donations to bad templates.

I spent seven years designing at Amazon, Charles Schwab, and S&P Global. I built email systems that reached millions of people, drove a 240% click-through increase, and earned a U.S. patent. That work taught me exactly how enterprise organizations use design to move people from awareness to action.

As I donated to different nonprofits throughout the years, I noticed something: the organizations doing the most urgent, meaningful work in the world like feeding families, protecting ecosystems, and fighting for rights were running their email campaigns on templates that broke on mobile, buried the donate button, and looked nothing like the credibility their mission deserved.

The gap wasn't effort. It was access. Big agencies charge what small nonprofits can't afford. DIY tools produce what overworked comms teams can piece together. Nobody was bringing enterprise-level methodology to organizations that needed it most.

So I left.

Now, every project I take on reminds me that I'm not just designing emails, I'm helping organizations feed families, protect forests, educate children, and change systems. That's work worth waking up for.

Founder & Lead Email Designer

I bring 15 years of experience designing across Amazon, Charles Schwab, and S&P Global where I built email systems that drove a 240% CTR increase and grew subscriber bases by 57.6K. Now I apply that same enterprise-level methodology exclusively to nonprofits.

My approach is data-informed and conversion-focused. I don't just make things look good, I design for measurable results: higher open rates, more clicks, more donations.

When I'm not in Figma, I'm hiking with my dogs, reading, or showing up for the causes I care about: human rights, reproductive rights, environmental justice.

I'm based in Seattle and work with nonprofits nationwide. I'm also a bit particular about accessible design, which means every template I build meets WCAG standards. For me that's not a checkbox, it's just how emails should work.

What Drives My Work

Mission-First Design

Your impact comes first. Every design decision is made with your nonprofit's goals and your supporters' experience in mind.

Transparent & Educational

I believe in empowering your team. You'll understand every design choice and leave with the skills to make the templates your own.

Accessible & Inclusive

All emails are designed to WCAG accessibility standards, ensuring everyone can engage with your message.

I didn't start my design career planning to work exclusively with nonprofits. But seeing how much they struggled with their email campaigns despite doing incredible work, something clicked.

I realized there was a huge gap: Nonprofits need sophisticated email design but rarely have the budget for big agencies or the time to DIY it well. I saw how the right email design could mean the difference between hitting a fundraising goal and falling short.

Now, every project I take on reminds me that I'm not just designing emails. I'm helping organizations feed families, protect forests, educate children, and change systems. That's work worth waking up for.

Why Work With an Enterprise Designer?

The design strategies that drive enterprise revenue, adapted for nonprofit fundraising.

Most email designers learned their craft on small projects. I spent 7+ years at Amazon, Charles Schwab, and S&P Global—where a single email reaches tens of thousands of users, every design decision is backed by data, and results are measured in real dollars.

That enterprise rigor now benefits your nonprofit. You get:

  • Design systems thinking, not one-off templates

  • Data-informed decisions, not just aesthetic preferences

  • Accessibility compliance baked in from the start

  • Scalable templates your team can actually use

  • User testing to validate designs before launch

Average Client Results:

38% average increase in email open rates

45% improvement in click-through rates

$15K+ additional revenue in first quarter

5+ hours saved weekly for nonprofit teams

100% mobile-responsive designs
